Roslyn Whiting Leathercraft is based in the Scottish borders. She uses traditional methods of craftsmanship and takes inspiration from the countryside around her to produce her designs.
Roslyn lent me some examples of her work, in particular the Leaderfoot journal. This beautifully made leather booklet measures some 9x15cm and contains a replaceable notebook for notes, sketches and lists; all contained in a British tanned calfskin cover that will only improve with use and age.

Roslyn focuses on British manufacture and sustainability. All the leather is vegetable tanned - so gentler to the environment - in Northamptonshire, belt leather is from Devonshire and brass buckles from Cheshire. Roslyn wastes as little as possible, using offcuts from larger items such as wallets and journals for smaller like page cuffs. Her stationery and boxes are sourced within the UK and the card is made from recycled cotton.
Roslyn Whiting's products are ideal for personal use for those items that you can use for years until they achieve a beautiful patina, or for gifts. For more information and to buy, go to Roslyn Whiting and follow her on Instagram.
